Public Access to Collection
The Arne Nixon Center is located on the third floor of the South wing of the Henry Madden Library. Visitors can come to the Center without an appointment during the Center's open hours, although appointment is still recommended, so that the staff may pull books ahead of time, saving time for all. Call (559) 278-8116 or send e-mail to arnenixoncenter@csufresno.edu to make an appointment to use the Center's materials.
The Arne Nixon Center materials are available for research only. Its books do not check out, but there is a circulating collection of children's books in another Library department called the Teacher Resource Center. Some titles may be found in both collections. It is recommended that teachers and future teachers familiarize themselves with their local public library collections and children's librarians, too.
To use materials housed by the Arne Nixon Center, you can search for them on the library catalog. Write down the title and author name of the materials that you want, and contact us to set a time for you to use the materials. Some of our materials are not yet listed in the catalog. So, if you cannot find what you need, ask us first!
To schedule an appointment for ANC material use, or for assistance:
* Send us an IM through meebo (see right hand column),
* E-mail us at arnenixoncenter@csufresno.edu, or
* Call us at 559.278.8116.
